Sunday 18th April marked the return to racing for the Kent Cycling Association in what should have been a 25 mile time trial on the Q25/8 Chilham course. Just the night before came notice that the roadworks on the Chilham – Ashford leg would not be cleared in time and the event would instead be run at a ten mile distance on a modified version of the Q10/6 course. Club captain Dave Greenwood and Rebecca Wilson were taking part along with Alex Balfour who was taking part in a separate Aerocoach sponsored event for Road Bikes. The only Wheelers on the start sheet and they were greeted with a bright but frosty morning in Chilham, with the low sun yet to warm up. The course follows a fairly flat out and back from Chilham via the Thanington roundabout near Canterbury, but finishes with a left turn towards Ashford and a sting in the tail climb before a downhill finish at Godmersham.
Dave Greenwood 25:21
Rebecca Wilson 26:09
Alex Balfour 25.46
