Please note new description of Sunday Club Rides, which reflects the Club and Committees desire to make the Ride a more inclusive ride/rides.
Starting from Appledore Bridge at 9am every Sunday morning throughout the year. The routes are decided on the day based on weather conditions and the riders present.
The pace can be between 18 and 22mph but this can be moderated on the day to ensure nobody is dropped or left behind on the way out. On the way back the pace may increase and the group may agree to split up into small groups if the ability levels are too disparate though nobody is left behind.
Additional rides at slower pace can be formed depending on numbers and abilities of riders on the day.
We put together a “B” team last Sunday 6th. Whilst the faster chaps headed north/east, we set of towards Rye and points west at a slower pace, averaging about 15/16mph. There were three of us, helped along by stunning scenery and quiet lanes. There were enough short sharp hills to make it a proper ride and of course the obligatory cuppa and baked beans on toast. About 35mls. I would like to try a similar ride this Sunday and I hope there are some kindred spirits out there to join me. Ideal for those of you who may be feeling a bit rusty and want to get back into regular rides. Usual meet time 09.00 Sunday on Appledore bridge
