The London Sportive

with No Comments

Not sure if we were tired from the spring classics but the London Sportive at 103 miles and around 1100m of climbing was as hard a ride as the Amstel Gold (250km, 3700m climbing).

There are better ways out of / back into London and the traffic we encountered wasn’t the best. I’m not sure I’d do this sportive again but then I said that after Paris Roubaix and I’m softening to the idea as my wrists recover.

I hope the prudential ride London event in August take in some better scenery and, as it’s closed road, the traffic isn’t such an issue.

The real highlight for me was an ‘extreme sports message’ from students at the Norwich City College at the finish – £5-10 donation for 20 minutes of muscle relief – bargain. We should look into getting them down to Appledore Bridge for post Sunday Run treatments…
