A fine day saw a good turnout for the 3rd Rye Wheelers “Up for Lunch” Charity Cycle Ride, and we were well supported by riders from Sussex and Kent. The Eastbourne Rovers were particularly supportive and we hope to see them again next Year. With a few changes to the Route, due to Road Works, explained to the Riders by the Architect of the Event the Riders were set off in groups by David Richardson.
30 riders elected to take on the 100K ride and they were rewarded by a more than ample spread at the top of Willingford Road. The first Riders William Murtagh and James Ashburnham arriving just as the food was set up closely followed by the Club Captain and more Rye Wheelers. After they were fed and watered the Rovers turned up and a sizeable dent was made in the refreshments.
A great day was had by all with all riders deserving of their “Up for Lunch” and all in a good cause.
A fuller report on the number of Riders and monies raised will follow in due course.
