Rye Rotary and Rye Wheelers “Tour de Rye et Romney Marsh”, update.

The 10th year of this event was again favoured by the weather which was near ideal except for a testing headwind for the return back to Rye. Still that’s the way for the Marsh, no hills but a lag sapping headwind is always on the cards.

A super turnout from The Wheelers, mostly in Club Kit, made for a super spectacle at the start and mini peletons on the Route.
Sadly down on riders from last years 125 but still impressive stats;
83 Riders took part and the money raised about £900 of which half will go to the Air Ambulance and the rest distributed to Charities.
A hearty thanks to all those that took part and a special thanks to the Rye Rotary for all their hard work in organising and marshalling the event.
There were some reports that a rider taking part had an accident and was taken to Hospital, it appears that the rider whilst riding with some others taking part he had not entered the event himself. We understand he was taken to Hospital with a broken collar bone but we do not have his details.
