Just wanted to check on the state of a rider who I think was on your event. I stopped to assist a group one of whom – Jim – took a really nasty tumble and last I saw him he was strapped to a stretcher and on his way to the William Harvey. Any news? Please pass on my best wishes. Angus of La Vie en Vélo (assisting on the Canterbury Bike Ride)

      Hi Angus

Sorry I don’t know anything about it, the event is organised by the Rye Rotary Club.
If I hear anything from them I will psot it on our website.

I might be wrong that he was on your ride. He might just have been on your and our route. But he was with a group and I think he was from Rye or thereabouts.

I saw a big Wheelers peloton pass me on the marsh yesterday. Good turn out!

Hi Paul, I’ve heard that the Jim in question is OK. Some stitches but miraculously no brakes.

If the Wheelers ever want to do a jaunt northward I’d be happy to host a cake/coffee/tea stop here in Whitstable or somewhere lovely by the roadside. We’ve done it for a few clubs and it’s a really nice way to establish contact. Needn’t lead to trip. No strings attached, etc.

Since we launched, we’ve got a lot of new trips to places like Mt Ventoux to show off and the fact that we are a local company and take people’s bikes down there from here and meet them from their flights – meaning your bikes don’t fly – seems to be a big draw.
