Black group Sunday club ride

Another hot one saw the Black group head for Peene this week. With the hope of wind on our backs for the return it was hills out. We welcomed John back after a mysterious rib injury forced him off the bike for a few weeks but otherwise it was the usual suspects. Out through Arrowhead to avoid a grain spill on the Kenardington road we soon through Hamstreet and on the lanes around the big lorry park at Ashford heading towards Wye. Then looping back to Brabourne, Postling, Stowting and the fast down hill towards the Railway museum at Peene. Ice creams and toasties and cold drinks were very much the order of the day with the hot weather. Back via Hythe to get the back wind home to Appledore. A convincing win from Simon in the sprint led us all back to the Black Lion. Beers all round plus Steve kindly bought a couple of bowls of chips too.
